Christmas 49 and Market

49 and Market has lovely, thick cardstock and papers that come with all the die-cut embellishments you need to create cards or layouts. For these cards I used the Vintage Artistry Noel collection. Let me go through the stages with you:

For the card on the left, I used a pop out die-cut included in the collection pack, but before I attached it, I placed a stencil of leaves and pulled through texture paste tined with a green distress re-inker. Using coordinating distress ink, I edged and blended the rest of the card front. Attached a peppermint border strip, the berry branch and a circle pop-out. I used extra glue to attach these and pushed the glue out a bit, added dots of glue around the branch, then sprinkled the whole piece with gold glitter - which, unfortunately, you cannot see in the photo. There is just a wisp of glitter around the card.

The card on the left: Since I had more of the mixed texture paste, I applied it randomly on the background. After it dried, I heavily distressed the card. The Christmas ornament is chipboard from Fabscraps. I first primed it with Gesso, daubed it with Distress Paint, then added glue and red glitter. I layered up the peppermint strip, glitter strip, die-cut "Merry" and December sticker. Then added the chipboard ornament and a die-cut deer.

Hope this gives you some ideas for your Christmas cards. You still have some time...
