It does not have to be traditional with red, white and green. I love to create something a bit unexpected, and these were just the ticket. I used Winter Trails punch out embellishments from Studio Light as my inspiration. The sheet contains lots of choices - all wintery with muted colors and elements.
Top Card: I backed the bird tag onto Cosmos paper from Stamperia, added layers with aqua snowflakes (Elizabeth Craft dies), a sweet birdhouse and evergreen branch (from Cottage Cutz). Everything was edged with Wilted Violet distress ink (Ranger/Tim Holtz).
Bottom Card: I used Studio Light (Winter Trails) paper as the background, embossing part of it with stars. All was distressed with Vintage Photo distress ink. Then I added some copper dots with a Viva Decor Pearl Pen. I added some shine to the entire card with Nuvo Embellishment Mouse - the photo doesn't pick this up, but it is there!
I also used Bazzill Basics Card Shoppe cardstock as base for the cards and to cut the snowflakes.
