Butterfly Kisses Birthday Wishes

Once in a while I dabble in simple mixed media techniques. This card was a bit of an experiment, but I love the way it turned out. I used printed paper on the background and simply smooched some gesso in spots. Then I added two different shades of pink acrylic paint. I did the same on corrugated paper (in this case I chose a bright yellow corrugate - yikes)

Once these pieces dried I poured some gold glimmer mist - yes, poured it right from the bottle - and let it drip down the papers. Then I used a distress tool to rough up the edges of the floral bouquet tag, which is the central focus of the card.

The images, sentiment and background paper are from P13 The Four Seasons, Spring collection. I absolutely adore this line with its combination of florals and vintage elements. The butterflies were cut from Kaisercraft Fairy Garden paper (Fairy Garden is in the discount section, so you know)

Other products used: DCWV Corrugate Stack, Distress ink, Bazzill Basics Cardstock, Deco Art Paint, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.
